Movie Synopsis One man nervously ventures forth into the final frontier in this comedy starring comic actor Steve Carell. Andy Stitzer (Carell) is a cheerfully geeky guy who is settling into middle age with his large collection of comic books, action figures, and collectable models. Andy works in an electronics store, and seems reasonably happy with his life. However, one day his friends and co-workers David (Paul Rudd), Jay (Romany Malco), and Cal (Seth Rogen) discover that Andy has a secret -- due to his rather severe jitters around women, Andy is still a virgin. Andy's pals are appalled at this state of affairs, and set out to find a woman who'd be willing to get horizontal with him. After a number of disastrous dates, everyone thinks Andy has finally struck gold when he meets Trish (Catherine Keener), an attractive single mother who takes an immediate liking to him. What the other guys don't know is that Trish has just gotten out of a bad relationship, and has informed Andy she isn't ready to be intimate with him just yet. The 40-Year-Old Virgin was the first feature film directed by Judd Apatow, who previously served as a writer and producer for the well-regarded television shows Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, and The Larry Sanders Show. ~ Mark Deming
Plot Summary 40-year-old Andy Stitzer has done quite a few things in his life. He's got a cushy job stamping invoices at an electronics superstore, a nice apartment with a proud collection of action figures and comic books, good friends, a nice attitude. But there's just one little thing he hasn't quite gotten around to doing yet--something most people have done by his age. Done a lot. Andy's never, ever, ever had sex--not even by accident. So is that such a big deal? Well, for Andy's buds at the store, it sure is. Although they think he's a bit of an oddball, there's certainly a planet full of stranger (and homelier) guys who've at least had one go at having a go. They consider it their duty to help Andy out of his dire situation and go to great lengths to help him. But nothing proves effective enough to lure their friend out of lifelong chastity until he meets Trish (Catherine Keener), a 40-year-old mother of three. Andy's friends are psyched by the possibility that it may finally happen...until they hear that Andy and Trish have begun their relationship based on a mutual no-sex policy.

Movie Reviews : DR. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth, "The Incredible Hulk," "Reservoir Dogs") can detect the truth by analyzing a person's face, body, voice and speech. When someone shrugs one shoulder, rotates their hand or raises their lower lip, Lightman knows they're lying. By analyzing facial expressions, he can read feelings - from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy.
But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do. Lightman is the world's leading deception expert, a scientist who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to discover not only if you are lying but why.
Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assist federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. DR. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not. Will Loker (Brendan Hines, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) is Lightman's lead researcher, who is so uncomfortable with the human tendency to lie that he's decided to practice what he calls "radical honesty." He says everything on his mind at all times and often pays the price.

Review : After PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and ATONEMENT, Keira Knightley continues her reign as the queen of the period film with this 18th-century costume drama. The corset-clad actress stars as Georgiana Spenser, the Duchess of Devonshire. With her marriage to the duke (Ralph Fiennes), Georgiana achieves an impressive level of fame as Britons follow both her clothing style and her political advice. But even celebrity and wealth can't act as a salve in her marriage to the boring, boorish duke. When he begins to flaunt his affairs, Georgiana is tempted to return to a teenage crush, Charles Grey (Dominic Cooper of THE HISTORY BOYS), to the anger of her husband and her mother (Charlotte Rampling, SWIMMING POOL). Fiennes's portrayal of the duke ranks roughly with his Lord Voldemort on a scale of beastly behavior, but the acclaimed actor manages to give him a level of humanity that far surpasses what he deserves. THE DUCHESS focuses on the lack of power possessed by Georgiana and, in fact, all women of her time, and the duke is the primary agent of her suppression. As she has done with other period films from the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series to KING ARTHUR, Knightley brings spirit to the role, as well as a regal carriage that perfectly fits the detailed costumes by Michael O'Connor. Fans of history-based drama--Georgiana was real-life royalty who is found in the genealogy of Princess Diana--will find much to like in this film, which boasts impressive locations, lush costumes, and forbidden love
Synopsis : Director Saul Dibb takes the helm for this period drama adapted from Amanda Foreman's best-selling novel Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, documenting the romantic entanglements of Georgiana Cavendish (Keira Knightley), a beautiful and clever woman who becomes a celebrity of British high society when she marries the Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes) and becomes consort to one of the most powerful men in England. Beloved for her trend-setting fashion designs as well as her political activism, Georgiana's fire and wit make her a beloved figure everywhere but her own home, where her cold and distant husband's control over her is stifling, soon sending her into the arms of a another man -- an act that soon forces her to learn about the brutal difference in the rights afforded to 18th century men and women. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Review
Apparently susceptible to one of the most blatant in-movie brand promotions of all-time I am now predictably craving those delicious little bite sized burgers!! We need to get that White Castle franchise happening up here in Canada!!!
This is one of the wildest and craziest road trips I have ever been on and with all the screams and ewwws!! in the audience, I think everyone had a good time. Kal Penn plays Kumar and John Cho is his buddy in crime, Harold and together they get into one hilarious mess after another!! They set out on a dark Friday night on a quest for the perfect burger, which becomes almost as impossible to imagine them succeeding at as if they were Indiana Jones pursuing some priceless artifact. Their determination to get to White Castle with frighteningly neverending obstacles thrown their way, causes the tension to incredibly (yes its true) keep you squirming in your seat. With hysterical cameos by Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder) playing an extremely sensitive male nurse and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser) as a whacked out actor that steals their car and Chris Meloni (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) as the terrifying “Freakshow”, the movie never sits still for a moment!! This movie is not for the squeamish but I did have fun but truly was a little nauseous when it was over.

Fed up with her boyfriend (Michael Madsen), live-wire Arkansas waitress Louise Sawyer (Susan Sarandon) persuades her friend Thelma Dickinson (Geena Davis), a naive housewife burdened with a negligent, sexist husband (Christopher McDonald), to hit the road with her for a weekend of freedom. One of their first stops is a bar where the women relax, dance, and flirt with some of the locals. But the situation turns ugly when one man (Timothy Carhart) follows Thelma to the parking lot and attempts to rape her, causing Louise to shoot and accidentally kill him. Convinced that the police will never believe their version of the incident, the women take off, now fugitives from the law. Emboldened by recent events, Thelma picks up studly young cowboy J.D. (Brad Pitt) in Oklahoma and enjoys a one-night stand that leads to even more trouble. Director Ridley Scott's infamous feminist road movie ranks among the best films of the 1990s. Along with BLADE RUNNER and ALIEN, the film is one of Scott's finest works, largely because of Callie Khourie's vivid, brilliantly idiosyncratic script, wonderful performances from the two leads, and Adrian's Biddle's crisp photography of the American Southwest.
Description: Thelma & Louise is a 1991 American road movie featuring two female leads. Directed by Ridley Scott and written by Callie Khouri, the film's plot revolves around Thelma and Louise's escape from their troubled, caged lives. It stars Geena Davis as Thelma and Susan Sarandon as Louise, and co-stars Harvey Keitel as a sympathetic detective trying to trace them as they go on the run after killing a rapist. Michael Madsen plays the role of Louise's boyfriend. Brad Pitt (in his first significant role in a major Hollywood film) plays a parolee robber. Thelma & Louise became an instant critical and commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 1991, and receiving six Academy Award nominations, winning one for Best Original Screenplay. Both Sarandon and Davis were nominated for their roles in the same category.
Plot : Danny and Bernard are two single men who live in Chicago. When Danny meets Debbie at a bar in Elk Grove Village, the two start a relationship from a one night stand. Danny's life then takes a different turn, and he has problems committing to his life with Debbie, who realizes his phobia with the help of her friend Joan. The film follows the couple from the beginning of their relationship to its end.
Synopsis : Loosely based on David Mamet's stage play, "Sexual Perversity in Chicago",About Last Night delves deeper into modern relationships amongst young adults and is much more charming and heartwarming than Mamet's single act stage play.In my humble opinion this little movie, directed by Edward Zwick, the director of the civil war drama "Glorya", gives one of the most accurate perceptions of the various forces at work in modern relationships (as they were in that era, anyway). The film follows a young couple (Lowe and Moore) as they fall in love and set up home in Chicago, and wryly observes the reactions of their friends (played by Belushi and Perkins) to this romance that, of course, means that they see much less of their former roommates and best friends.
The movie carefully retains an upbeat style, never loses its sense of humour and is a goldmine of 80's cliches in both the filmmaking and clothing styles.Women like it for it's genuine heart and romance. Guys like it because it, for once, accurately conveys male bonding and the pressure they are put under from their friends when settling down with a girl.Definitely a good one to watch with a loved one (or future loved one). Wallow in the nostalgia of 80's clothing, music and social scene as it is conveyed on screen and enjoy the thoughtful, sensitive script played with sincerity by this bunch of leading lights from the 80's. Belushi is never funnier, Lowe never acted better and Demi never looked better...

Description : Sex of Magic is a Korean movie that shows such a wide range of sexual techniques that it may soon become known as the Korean version of the Kamasutra. Considering the cultural climate, where sexual abstinence has long been upheld as a Confucian virtue, the introduction of this kind of movie itself is sensational in itself.
Unlike director Bang Seong-wung's last movie,Prison World Cup (2001), in which not even a plain kissing scene appeared, the new movie is full of erotic and straightforward depictions of sexual intercourse. In a sense, the movie could be worth seeing for the sole purpose of appreciating the aesthetically pleasing figures of two main characters, Gu Bon-seung and Kim Ji-eun, who are making their first big-screen debut.
However, it is not like a soft-core porn film in that it has, believe it or not, a very clear educational purpose. ``I had planned to make this movie for eight years because I couldn't even dream of making any movie of this genre back then, so I just had to wait until the time was mature, Bang said. As he intended, this movie is full of useful information on traditional remedies to enhance men's stamina and energy, not to mention various sex techniques and postures.
At the same time, it also speaks critically about the deeply rooted, enduring myth of male dominance in sex, putting great emphasis on the importance of caring most about the female counterparts feelings while having sex.
The movie is about a young pharmacist, Sung-bin (Gu Bon-seung), who is rich and handsome, and even has a beautiful fiancee, Ji-hye (Kim Ji-eun). He doesn't seem to lack of anything for his age, except for one thing, the sexual competence to satisfy his fiancee. For two years of their romantic relationship, Sung-bin has never succeeded in sexually satisfying his fiancee, and finally Ji-eun declares the separation.
``You can go to any business school and learn how to make a fortune, or you can go to a dance club to learn how to dance like Britney or N Sync. However, there is not a single institute teaching sex techniques in Korea, Sung-bin sighs in an early scene. Frustrated by his sexual inadequacy, Sung-bin leaves on a journey to learn how to satisfy Ji-hye, only to be swindled out of his money by his closest friend.
Finally, at the end of the journey, he happens to meet his father's old teacher, and gets an unforgettable, priceless lesson, which eventually leads him to salvation.
Director Bang debuted with the sports comedy ``Prison World Cup" (2001), which humorously depicts the fuss over the selection of criminal soccer players who join a soccer match against a different prisoners' group. Through the movie, he attracted as much high praise as severe criticism from movie critics.
Although ``Sex of Magic" is good in itself as a unique sex comedy with many fun things to watch, there is a question left unsolved, mixed with a slight emptiness raised at the end of the movie.
Sung-bin could reach his salvation only because he finally found out how to satisfy his fiancee. Besides, the first words that come out of Ji-hye's mouth after attaining satisfaction are ``I love you" . It seems that Sung-bin has been unable to get her love only by the length and weight of sexual satisfaction. Can't true love ever overcome that? Can we call it a true love if love between two people is possible only under the condition of sexual satisfaction? These are the questions the movie seems to raise. For now, the answer seems to be yes. That could be we might call the ``magic" of sex.
Story : Seong-bin (Goo Bon-seung) is a pharmacist and going to marry his longtime girlfriend Ji-Hye (Kim Ji-eun). Unfortunately, shortly before the wedding their relationship seems to come to an end, because Seong-bin seems to be unable to sexually satisfy his girlfriend. After their break-up Seong-bin goes on a trip. With the help of his friend he searches for masters, who can teach him the real "Art of Sex", so that he can get his girlfriend back. Yet, all of these so called masters prove to be nothing more than charlatans. When Seong-bin already gave up in despair, he accidentaly makes the acquaintance of a real master...
Short Synopsis : Happily engaged to be married, Seung-bin (Bon-seung Goo) begins to get cold feet when his betrothed (Ji-eun Kim) evinces a glaring lack of interest in sex. Fantasizing about a beautiful television actress doesn\'t exactly ramp up his desire to get to the altar, but it does make him realize just what turns him on... Source : Avistaz
